ONCE UPON A TIME
I was fully immersed in the world of child and youth work, armed with a freshly minted degree in psychology...
Let's step back in time to the year 2010, a pivotal moment in my life when I embarked on the thrilling adventure of marriage with my amzing husband. In those days, I was fully immersed in the world of child and youth work, armed with a freshly minted degree in psychology. I was working in a maternity home, helping young moms and their little ones navigate the early stages of parenthood. My grand plan? To forge a path in social work or a similar field. Little did I know, life had some surprises up its sleeve.
Fast forward a bit, and I found myself on a horse farm, of all places!
I was helping the farm owner research what it would take to open an equine-assisted therapy program. I also taught riding lessons, ran day-camps, and helped maintain the farm website. I would help take photos of the horses that were for sale, and quickly fell in love with "perfecting" each photo. I invested MANY hours learning as much as I possibly could about camera settings, lighting, editing, and more.
As my photography knowledge continued to grow, friends and family started to take notice, and others began asking if I had a business card… and so, Shannon Cliffe Photography was born.
And then, in 2015, when my husband and I welcomed our baby girl into the world, my love of photography deepened even more. I'm not sure why I didn't realize it before, but becoming a parent made me realize that photography isn't just about taking pretty pictures – it's also about documenting real moments in time.
I feel so blessed to be able to help families preserve beautiful memories through photographs. And I thank God for this photography business that he has blessed me with!
